Case 3
A 43 year old man is brought into the emergency department by ambulance with a suspected overdose of unknown medications. According to his family he had been very depressed lately, had stopped taking his antipsychotic medications and had been hoarding them in his room. Today his partner found him acutely confused and agitated when they returned home from work.
On assessment appears delirious and is picking at his IV cannula and ECG leads. His pupils are dilated. He his warm and dry to the touch. His observations are:
Temp 37.8, HR 130, RR 22, 98% RA, 150/75
